Sr. Pipeline Engineer.
Years and Type of Experience.
- Minimum 13 years of onshore design experience in the oil and gas field.
- At least 5 years in a consulting background.
- At least 3 years in a construction background.
- EPC background is an added advantage.
Technical Knowledge and Skills
General
- Feasibility studies, conceptual design, FEED, detail design and procurement support
- Familiarity with international codes, standards and industry guidelines such as ASME, API, BS, DIN, ASTM, IP, AGA, ISO, NACE, DEP etc.
Pipeline Design & Construction
- Preparation of reports, calculations, specifications, datasheets, route selection/survey and preparation of route maps and alignment drawings.
- Must have a sound technical knowledge of wall thickness, buoyancy, buckling and pipe laying calculations, process design and preparation of PFDs and P&IDs, hydraulic analysis, line and equipment sizing, road crossing design, calculations and drawings.
- Previous experience in risk assessment, hydraulic analysis, pipe support stability design, culvert design, pipe stressing, cathodic protection design, material selection, hot tap and stoppling, design and/or field supervision an added advantage.
- Previous experience in the preparation of WPS, hydrotesting design, calculations and field involvement is an added advantage.
Procurement Support
- Knowledge of preparation of technical requisitions, technical bid evaluations, post order vendor data review and coordination with vendors.
Projects Experience
- Knowledge in the preparation of project schedule using MS Project and/or Primavera.
- Previous experience in project management is an added advantage.
Personal Competencies
- Report writing skills.
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills to be able to coordinate in a multi disciplinary environment.
- Be able to motivate and provide technical guidance to a team of engineers.
- Ability to communicate with senior management.
- Ability to communicate with, and develop long term relationships with clients.
Job Responsibilities
- To execute work in compliance with project requirements and the Company’s quality system.
- To review the project execution schedule and develop detailed schedules for electrical design activities.
- Production of documents including, but not limited to calculations, reports, studies, specifications and datasheets.
- Production of drawings, including but not limited to, P&IDs, plot plans, general arrangements, isometrics, support layouts, alignment sheets, road crossings, utilities design, chamber drawings etc.
- Procurement support for technical requisitions, technical bid evaluations, vendor data review, material and equipment inspections etc.
- Manhour estimations for tenders.
- Occasional site visits and surveys.
- Assistance with tender packages including BOQ, tender documents, scope of work etc.
- Establish, in cooperation with the Head of Department and Project Manager, the specific requirements of work required of their discipline.
- To execute work in compliance with the Company’s quality system.
- Technical bid evaluations.
- Review of vendor drawings.
- Coordinate and work with other disciplines.
- Study work requirements to establish a project deliverables list.
- Assist the Head of Department in assessing the requirements for staff training and the technical performance of staff.
- Assist the Head of Department in the management of the department workload.
- Participate in the Company’s mentoring program to assist and mentor younger, less experienced engineers.

- CAESAR II and/or Autopipe
- PipeSim, Pipephase or Pipeline Studio
- Primavera and/or Microsoft Projects
- AutoCAD
- Math CAD
