Sapphire Consulting Services is seeking a System Programmer to work as a consultant for its client in U.S.A.
The position will be of senior technical experts in the organization and will be expected to fill a vital role in the success of the IT organization. The Systems Programmer would be responsible for the strict adherence and will insure that all implementations meet department compliance policies, internal control procedures and industry best practices. Preference will be given to the candidates already residing in U.S.A.
Position Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the reliability, performance, recoverability and security of corporate iSeries server hardware, operating systems and certain infrastructure applications/solutions (like faxing, etc.). • This includes implementation, configuration, coordination, control, maintenance, troubleshooting, security, usage and performance. • Monitoring and the development of specialized procedures relating to the use of the iSeries distributed computing environment within the corporation.
Skills:
The candidate should at least possess 4 years Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related discipline with the following skills.
61607; IT:-
- Background and General PC / MS Office Skills.
- Minimum Experience Required (YRS) 10+.
61607; AS/400 Hardware:-
- Capacity Planning/Forecasting.
- Maintenance.
- Upgrades.
- Update Documentation.
- Minimum Experience Required (Years) 5+.
61607; Operating System:-
- Very Good Skills of All Aspects Integrated OS – Work Management, Security, DB (Local & Distributed), Communication, OS Internal Jobs, Etc.
- O/S Related Issues (IBM PMR’s).
- O/S Testing, Upgrading & Interoperability.
- Documenting Upgrade Procedures.
- Minimum Experience Required (Years) 7-10.
61607;PTF Mgmt:-
- PTF Planning.
- Implementation.
- Minimum Experience Required (YRS) 5-10.
61607;AS/400 Performance Management:-
- Monitoring Of C/S DB and Native Applications Environment (Knowledge Of Performance Navigator and Centerfield Software A Plus).
- Issue Reporting.
- Performance Tuning.
- Minimum Experience Required (Years) 5+.
System Programming:-
- Good Knowledge of CL a must.
- Automation of backup procedures and daily operations procedures.
- Java, C++ etc. helpful.
- Minimum Experience Required (Years) 5+.
Third Party Software Administration:
- Ensuring Systems & Versions are Up To Date.
- Creating System Documentation.
- Minimum Experience Required (Years) 5+.
Visions:-
- Use Of Visions Software To Mirror Data To DR AS/400s.
- Manage Role Swap To The DR AS/400 (Make That The Production AS/400).
- Planning Upgrades.
- Planning and Implementing New Mirroring Projects.
- Documentation.
- Minimum Experience Required (Years) 2-5.
Other Software:-
- Knowledge of Data Propagator, MQ, LXI, PGP.
- Minimum Experience Required (Years) 2-5.
Business Applications:
- Good understanding of financial and LOB applications.
- Minimum Experience Required (Years) 7-10.
Project Management:
- Must have Project Planning and Management Skills.
- Must be able to work as a project lead or as part of a project team.
